Stumbling along 1/14/12

Well, the new year’s here, so here’s a new edition of Stumbling along.  for those of you that STILL don’t know what stumbling is, check out StumbleUpon. it’s pretty cool and really addictive.

To start, here’s a video of a really old man dancing to LMAFO

HERE is an awesome pictoral about an abandoned doll factory. Obligitory creepy sample pic below

An now, to wipe away the pending nightmares, HERE are 40 pictures of painfully cute puppies

I’m not even sure i like this site, but it’s just of kilter enough for me to share it. It’s called “AntiJoke”. Here’s a sample joke:

Q. Why did the boy drop his ice cream?
A. Because he was hit by a bus.

Burning Man. it’s kind of a cross between a rave, a hippie commune and Mad Max: Beyond thunderdome. The point is, Scott London takes some awesome pics from there. Check out this interview and a bunch of photo’s….

The Photo below? yeah, it’s not a photo. It’s actually a drawing, done entirely with chalk and graphite. mind blown yet? wait till you check out more of Paul Caddens work HERE

Ecosphere’s. I WANT ONE! here’s a description of the pic below:

“Inside these sealed glass balls live shrimp, algae, and bacteria, all swimming around in filtered seawater. Put it somewhere with some light, and this little ecosystem will chug along happily for years, no feeding or cleaning necessary, totally oblivious to the fact that the rest of the world exists outside.EcoSpheres came out of research looking at ways to develop self-contained ecosystems for long duration space travel. They’re like little microcosms for the entire world, man. But ask yourself: are we the shrimp, or the algae?”

A really cool stop motion video about books. you know i’m in. Check it out HERE

Wonderland is a photo series by Kirsty Mitchell. The pic below is just a small taste of an amazing collection and an interesting interview. Check it out HERE

And to finish off, here’s a few random pictures i really just like….

  1. I only hope that when I am 80 I am still kicking it like these old dudes. And I hope some form of techno is still popular. And to comment on the last two pictures: a) I don’t think I have ever seen a picture of young Japanese girls that WEREN’T flashing a “v” – uncanny, and b) I love trains and I love overhanging trees – the image is magical. Thanks for the posts.
